ONE Vision

What does ONE mean?  Glad you asked!  Below is a brief description.  Italicized words and phrases represent ONE core values.

ONE means that every person is a child of God created in God’s image and therefore worthy to be treated with dignity and respect.  God’s love is a value-creating love.   God does not love us because we are worthy; we are worthy because God loves us.  And because God loves each person infinitely and unconditionally, each person has infinite and unconditional value.

Being One means that we are equally loved by God and, by extension, no person is more or less welcome than another.   We welcome everyone just as God in Christ welcomes us. 

Being One means that each person is free to live faithfully according to conscience while recognizing that those with whom we passionately disagree share that same freedom.

Being ONE means that we celebrate diversity.  Our unity does not mean uniformity and our oneness does not mean sameness.  We distinctly yet inseparably reflect the beautiful tapestry of God’s creation.
